A pregnant man!?!
Peggy and I were sitting in a tiny cafe early one morning in Barcelona when she caught a glimpse of this on the television mounted above our heads. By the time I looked up to see what she was gawking at it was gone - and quite honestly I didn’t think much more about it.

Until yesterday at 4pm, that is. When Thomas & Nancy Beatie were on Oprah. O-P-R-A-H. That’s big time y’all. If you didn’t catch it, you can read the story here. But reading the story won’t let you see the perplexed expressions on the faces of the soccer moms in the audience when Oprah introduced Thomas as a transgendered male. LMAO! Now THAT was priceless!

I thought Thomas did a great job of answering Oprah’s questions and he was very well spoken and articulate. The way I see it, this interview is a positive step that will help shed more light on the transgendered lifestyle; however, Oprah mentioned that some in the transgendered community are up in arms about this whole situation. Not being transgendered, maybe it’s hard for me to understand why this is so. I thought that we in the GLBT community preach, celebrate, and embrace diversity.

If a stable couple chooses to bring a child into this world and will raise them in a loving and nurturing environment, why the @%$! does it matter what they identify themselves as or what kind of plumbing they have?!?
